Description
The wolf is an emblematic species in any territory where it lives, playing a crucial role in the health of ecosystems and, in addition, it can become a source of income in rural areas. In the Loras Geopark, despite having suffered its greatest persecution, the wolf never became extinct, but remained present in the territory, establishing a historical relationship with the environment and with livestock farmers.
Unfortunately, nowadays, the figure of the rancher is disappearing, despite its relevance in our community. Therefore, it is essential to listen to their voices and work in collaboration with them to ensure the preservation of both the species and the livestock sector in the Loras Geopark.
Until now, there has been no joint effort to collect data on the wolf population or on specific conflicts in the region, beyond some negative news in the press on the subject.
