Background

In October 2017 the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation organized a participatory forum in Monaco, with the aim to put forward innovative proposals and concrete recommendations to facilitate cohabitation between humans and wildlife.

A report highlighting ways to improve relations between humans and wildlife was produced. The Human Wildlife Initiative was launched in response to one of the forum's recommendations - to identify and mobilize engaged actors willing to take a stand and help facilitate the cohabitation of man and large wildlife in the Southern Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur province.
