International Wildlife Coexistence Network

From October 20 to 23, the Initiative Homme-Faune Sauvage took part in the “International Wildlife Coexistence Network”, a major international conference dedicated to coexistence between humans and wildlife. For three days, the event brought together researchers, indigenous representatives, NGOs and institutions from all walks of life to discuss concrete solutions for preventing conflict and promoting respectful coexistence. Organizado por International Wildlife Coexistence Network, Animal Welfare Institute, Humane Society International.

Discussions focused on key themes: local community leadership, successful field models, technological innovations (such as artificial intelligence or ecological monitoring), and the need to better integrate social perceptions into conservation. The importance of dialogue, education and changing the way people look at wildlife was also widely emphasized.

During the opening session, the IHF presented its actions in France, Spain and French-speaking Switzerland, with a focus on local dynamics and partnerships built with breeders, local authorities and biodiversity stakeholders. It was also an opportunity to recall the support of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation for our projects, as well as for other similar initiatives, notably in Tanzania and Uganda.
