Description
The growing development of outdoor activities, in particular ski touring, summer hiking and mountain biking, is putting increased pressure on wildlife throughout the year. In the Réserve Naturelle Régionale des Partias, located on the edge of the Serre-Chevalier ski area, and more widely in the Briançonnais region, this frequentation, although regulated, disturbs sensitive species during critical periods: in spring, when flight represents a major energy cost, and in summer, during the breeding and rearing phases.
In response to this situation, concrete actions have been taken: wintering areas for the Black Grouse have been marked out with ropes and flags, awareness-raising campaigns are carried out during peak periods, and traffic rules are reminded on trails after the snow has melted. Other species, such as rock ptarmigan, chamois and various ungulates, are also affected. The aim is to reconcile leisure activities with the protection of biodiversity, by encouraging users to be more aware of the issues at stake and to comply more closely with current regulations.
